It's Been Too Long...

So first off, please accept our apologies for the lapse of time that has passed since our last post. Weight Of Gravity has been going through a "re-tooling" time as we look to set out for a revival in the Spring of 2010. We are currently working on new songs & all of us are working with other musical interests & projects during this awakening from hibernation into Spring. We look forward to our upcoming shows, which will be announced later on down the road, to bring our fans an entirely new selection of original tunes for your singing & dancing delight.

Bob has been working diligently with Sky Blue Mind as these guys are blowing audiences away with their technical prowess & uncanny cover selection. They recently played a packed Tammany Hall as well as City Lights, another up & coming Worcester hot spot. Be sure to check back for future shows, these guys ARE worthy! If Illuminati Illuminations is there your visual senses will be intensified to go along with their progressive style of music.

Dan & Steve have continued to bring their soulful & skillful acoustic shows each month with upcoming dates at Applebee's in Sturbridge, MA April 9th (8pm - close) & Admiral T.J. O'Brien's April 23rd (9pm - close). I attended their last show at T.J.'s where they had a full bar singing along to classic covers & favorite hits from the 80's & 90's. If you haven't been you must check them out as well.

Evan has been sitting in with Mocha Java at The Ship Room inside the Hotel Vernon located in Kelley Square in lovely Worcester, MA. Mocha Java was ahead of their time in the early to mid 90's bringing a folk infused jam rock feel up & down the Eastern seaboard. They have recently reunited & were quickly invited to host a reoccuring Wednesday night (8pm - 10pm) spot at this once glorious prohibition speak easy, a favorite of Babe Ruth's back in his early Red Sox days. Please come down to soak in the tunes in an incredible acoustic atmosphere.

Beatnik's - Friday January 22, 2010

This will be the Weight of Gravity's first show at one of the coolest new bars in Worcester. Beatnik's (433 Park Ave.) has great atmosphere, delicious cocktails & a stellar staff. It's also a very comfortable room to get down in!

Sky Blue Mind, the new progressive rock outfit in town, will be opening up the night & if you have not checked these guys out yet this would be the perfect place to do it!

Doc at Illuminati Illuminations will be providing the evening's light show.

Cover is $5 & SBM will hit the stage around 9:30pm. Come on down & enjoy our first stretch of shows in the new year.

Acoustic Sweetness

Dan & Steve are kicking off the New Year with an acoustic show at Admiral T.J. O'Brien's Restaurant & Pub (407 Main Street Sturbridge, MA 01566 Ph:508-347-2838) this Friday night at 9pm. Grab some apps, warm or cold drinks & enjoy their soulful singing.

New Year's Eve @ The Cannery

As we say good-bye to 2009 & welcome 2010, Weight of Gravity would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the past years as we look forward to what's in store in the near & distant future. We celebrated much success in '09 & plan on bringing the same energy, passion & rocking music into 2010 & beyond...

In doing so WOG will be playing at The Cannery (12 Crane Street, Southbridge, MA) NYE with special guest The Grift. This last show of the year kicks off at 9pm & will go into the New Year. We'll be sure to have copies of our debut, award-winning album for sale for anyone who doesn't have a copy yet.

Weekend full of local shows

Weight of Gravity has two shows this weekend. First up we're playing at the Wheelock Inn in Millbury (82 Wheelock Avenue - Millbury, MA Ph:508-791-3477‎). This show starts at 10pm and ends when the beer, wine & spirits all run dry. Saturday night WOG will be performing at The Pumphouse in Southbridge, MA. Bob's other band, Sky Blue Mind, will be kicking the night off around 9pm.

Rock For The Aged @ Fifth Amendment 12.05.09

Weight of Gravity will be playing Rock For The Aged at Fifth Amendment (formerly Chaser's) in Worcester this Saturday @ 9pm with Matt Shwachman Band, Jediah & Article 19. $10 cover with all proceeds to benefit the Jewish Healthcare Center.
